A good suit can make or break your style credentials in your wardrobe by how it looks on you. It’s undeniable that a suit is a lifetime investment which takes much consideration and handled with a level of seriousness as when got right it boosts your self confidence to the maximum. As Charles Hix once said “Looking good is not self-importance, its self-respect.”At the end of the day every man wants to feel respected and that’s part of our job to make you feel that way while still chic. You don’t want to walk around looking like a bozo after spending your hard earned cash, do you? No, you don’t.
Through your teenage or collage years, you might be able to get by without owning a single suit. But after you graduate; you may land a job that requires you wear one on the daily. On the flipside you may end up working in a casual office, you may find that the need for a suit starts to crop up more often in your life-for interviews, funerals, weddings, and other special occasions. There are a few factors to consider when choosing your first suit and the situation may prove daunting especially if you are new to this world of suits. Don’t fret we got you. These style nuggets we are about to delve into will assist you handle your choice the James Bond way. Let’s’ go in.

COLOR

If you are new to the suit world, or can only afford to buy only one suit, which color suit should you buy? That’s a question that lingers in many people’s mind on their first purchase .No worry; we are here to help you. Stay tuned and we’ll find a custom suit for you by recommending the best suit based on your coloring, build, style preferences and budget in general.

  1. FIRST SUIT

Universally it’s accepted that the first suit be a dark color favorably gray. This has come to replace black suits which were must-have for semi formal office wear. It works well during the day and night outs being the most versatile suit color and that it’s more casual than black. If you don’t wear a suit too often a dark gray one may be all you ever need.

Gray is a classical color, advisably you’d go for charcoal gray. It gives a professional and subdued look. Good thing it matches with a wide variety of other colors of dress shirts and tie; style should be plain and flexible. The gray suit can be worn to most occasions; you’d prefer 2-3 buttons as the classic fit. About the fabric we’d advise lightweight wool to be worn all throughout the year. You don’t want to be limited by the weather. A single breast would be appropriate. If you’ve got one suit in your closet it ought to be gray!

  1. SECOND SUIT
Navy blue jacket matched with a pair of maroon pants.

While gray may have a modern edge, navy is always in style and would be the perfect choice for your second suit added to the closet. It has a more relaxed and gentlemanly feel. The jacket can always double as a blazer when paired with a different pair of dress pants or a pair of jeans. It’s suitable for weddings and social events as it gives a sharp look on everyone; making it also appropriate for the office, a navy blue suit is more youthful and laid back. You’d go for 2-3 buttons and settle for a single breast.
Both the gray and navy suits are recommended as they can also be worn for long being suitable as your two first suits. Navy is just a little sophisticated.

TIP: If you’re going to be wearing a suit to work every day, you’re going to need a closetful of them. To make your suit last you’ll not want to wear it back to back days; instead you’ll want to give it time to air out and retain its original shape. You need a variety of things to wear to office for this reason you need an average of 3-5 suits or more if you want.

  1. THIRD SUIT

If you work in a professional office, or just love suits you’ll want to add another suit into your closet. Having at the back of your mind that you already have two classical suits in your closet you won’t mind going all out on this one. We’d recommend a Blue or grey pinstripe suit or a plaid one. This suit exudes confidence, professionalism, and flashiness thus so great for important meetings. Plaid suits exude a subtle, old school elegance.
In warmer climate, you will prefer a lighter gray, lightest weight wool, slightly more casual suit for your third acquisition. Very light grays are too casual for the office so you’ll go for medium gray here; solid or plaid. On your 3RD suit you can consider making it double breasted; which you may pull off correctly. To avoid looking old school we recommend that the fit be slim. If this is your choice make the jacket with a 6*2 button configuration.

FOURTH SUIT

Despite what many may want to believe the black suit works really well for most gentlemen and would even work as your third suit. It’s suitable for a special occasions, say anniversaries, funerals, dinner e. t. c .If well fitted black suits can be worn under dim lights of night time events. Black can go with most dress shirts, for instance putting a white dress shirt, black bowtie, and black shoes you’ll be perfectly dressed for suit and tie events.

If you plan on wearing it to formal events, you’ll want to keep the styling fairly classical. If the opposite is true feel free to make the fit tighter and the style more fashion forward by playing with the details say; buttons and lapels

“Putting on a beautifully designed suit elevates my spirit, exolts my sense of sense ,and helps define me as a man to whom details matter.” – Gay Talese

“Black is always elegant. It is the most complete color in the whole world ,made of all the colors in the palette.”- Ricardo Tisci

    1. FIFTH SUIT

If you’ve got five suits why not make the next one something you love, something that is a reflection of your personality. There may be a specific suit you may have always wanted to wear or certain fabric you may have wanted to try say; linen or maybe tweed. This also the moment to test different colors you may have wanted.
